Research subjects needed – Warped reality

wedding dresses NZWe are looking for volunteers to participate in an experiment to test the comfort and usability of a head-worn warped reality device that allows the user to see around corners, using the Google Cardboard and Google Project Tango Tablet.

Subjects will be asked to do a virtual egg hunt to help us judge whether or not the warped view causes motion sickness.

This experiment will take approximately 60 min and will be held in the basement of Benton Hall on the campus of Miami University, in Oxford Ohio. Some subjects may experience symptoms of motion sickness.

If you are interested please contact Dr. Brinkman at bo.brinkman@miamioh.edu.

Thank you for your time,
Bo Brinkman and Markus Ernst
Augmented Reality Center

This experiment has been approved by the Institutional Review Board of Miami University, protocol number 1201r. They may be contacted at 513-529-3600 or humansubjects@miamioh.edu.

    Do you still need volunteers?

Yes, we’ll be recruiting for most of the summer, I would guess.

By any chance, is there an age limit or preference?

We require participants to be legally able to give consent to participate, which means (among other things) at least 18 years old.

This restriction doesn’t apply to seeing demos of our projects, but just to who can participate in the study.
